Resin
SLA, on our Formlabs Form 4 and Form 4L
UV light hardens liquid resin into a solid shape, one ultra-thin layer at a time.

Figures, busts and minis
Faces, fabric folds and engraved text all survive at 50 microns, and grey resin takes paint beautifully.

A hot nozzle lays down melted plastic, building the shape up layer by layer.

Did you know? Resin prints grow down from the build plate. Filament prints grow up from the bed.
What it's made of
Professional Formlabs resins, no cheap imports. Grey is our go-to, but there's a resin for most jobs.

Shows detail best and takes paint perfectly.
White
For light-coloured paint schemes.

A sleek finish straight off the printer.
Clear
Lenses, light effects and display pieces.
All four are Formlabs General Purpose V5: 62 MPa tensile strength, 5.6% elongation, smooth matte finish.
Tough 1500
Bends before it breaks, a bit like a plastic bottle cap. Good for snap fits, hinges and clips, marine fittings and anything you wear.

Safe by design
Liquid resin needs care. What you take home doesn't.
Safe to handle
Once washed and cured, resin prints are solid, inert plastic.

Uncured resin needs gloves and ventilation, so it never leaves our workshop.
Skin safe when it counts
Tough 1500 is certified for extended skin contact, so wearable cosplay is fine.
No ACMO
Formlabs resins leave out ACMO, a skin sensitiser found in many budget resins.

Our prints aren't rated for direct contact with food or drink.
Printing questions
The ones we get asked most. Anything else, just ask.
How long does a print take?
Most prints on the Form 4 finish in under two hours, and big pieces on the Form 4L can take up to six. Add washing, curing and finishing and most jobs are ready within a few days. Need it sooner? Ask, and we'll be honest about whether it's possible.
How much does it cost?
There's no price list because there's no standard job. Cost comes down to size, time on the printer and how much finishing you want. Small pieces are often cheaper than people expect. Large painted props are not.
What file do you need?
An STL or OBJ is ideal, from Blender, Fusion 360, ZBrush, TinkerCAD or anything else. No file? Bring the broken part in or send photos and we'll design it. Design help is part of the job, not an upsell.
Can you print in colour?
Resin comes in grey, white, black and clear, and we airbrush any colour you like with Vallejo paints. For colour straight off the printer, the Bambu prints up to four colours at once.
How fine can you go?
50 microns (0.05 mm), finer than a human hair. For jewellery casting patterns we can go down to 25 microns.
What about copyrighted characters?
We can print fan-made or licensed models. For copyrighted characters we'd point you to officially licensed files, or an original design inspired by them.

Yes. Bring the part, the file or just the idea, and we'll tell you there and then whether we can print it.
